You're reading: Ukrainian, Polish presidents met in Wisla

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and his Polish counterpart Bronislaw Komorowski have held a meeting on February 20.

According to the presidential press service, the meeting took place in Wisla at the residence of the Polish president.

As reported, Yanukovych is on a working visit to Wisla (Poland) on February 20-21 at the invitation of Komorowski.

The sides will hold summit talks during the visit. In addition, Yanukovych will hold a trilateral meeting with Komorowski and Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic.

Special attention will be paid to Ukraine’s European integration, primarily to the preparations for the EU-Ukraine Summit and the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU, according to the press service.

The agenda of the visit also includes discussion of the intensification of cooperation between Central and Eastern Europe, particularly Ukraine’s involvement in joint activities of the Visegrad Four.

The sides will also discuss transboundary cooperation, intensification of trade and economic relations, cooperation in the spheres of energy and transport, and the development of cultural and social ties.
