Kyiv, Jan. 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Ukrainian Social Democratic Party (USDP) supports the principles stipulated in an agreement on the joint actions of the united opposition and is ready to sign it in the proposed wording on the Day of Unity of Ukraine.

"The USDP political council has reviewed the proposed draft agreement on the joint actions of the united opposition and decided to fully support it. We realize that the only opponent for the united opposition is the current regime and the political forces that represent it," the party’s press service said citing USDP First Deputy Head, MP (the BYT-Batkivschyna faction) Yevhen Suslov.

He stressed that the USDP shares the key principles set in this agreement.

"We agree with the fact that the opposition powers should coordinate common political principles and approaches, with which they will participate in the parliamentary elections in 2012. We need to coordinate actions aimed at ensuring the preparation and holding the fair elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine, establishing their actual results, preventing fraud voting and distorting the will of citizens," the MP said.
