Vira Ulyanchenko, the former head of the secretariat of the third Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko, has been expelled from the party ticket of the Our Ukraine Party.
An informed source told Interfax-Ukraine that such a decision was taken at the eleventh congress of the party on Tuesday, July 31.
An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that Ulyanchenko left the sitting hall and refused to answer journalists' questions.
Our Ukraine Leader Viktor Yuschenko told reporters that Ulyanchenko's expulsion from the party ticket was "a technical issue that is in the competence of the congress."
He added that five decisions related to the membership of the party ticket were approved during the congress.
"Well they expelled [her], so let's move forward," Yuschenko said.
He added that there were obviously some reasons for the expulsion of Ulyanchenko.
"Obviously, there were some reasons and personally I disagree with them. But I have to obey [the congress]," he said.
The party ticket includes 225 people.
