Under Secretary of U.S. State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Tara Sonenshine has called Ukrainian women to confidently come to power.
“We must make both women and men equal in taking decisions,” she said during the forum ‘Women Entrepreneurs: The Next Motive Power of the Ukrainian Economy?’ in Kyiv on Friday.
According to the official, women are the most undervalued and untapped potential of humankind, and they account for only a fifth part of the governmental, entrepreneurship and public activity in the world.
Sonenshine also said no country in the world has yet achieved gender equality.
“It’s time for American and Ukrainian women set themselves the task of finishing this work,” she said.
