KHARKIV - Doctors from the German clinic Charite will be able to visit former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko at a penal colony in Kharkiv on April 13, Tymoshenko's defense counsel Serhiy Vlasenko said.

"As far as I know, they will have this opportunity," Vlasenko told Interfax-Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry had reported earlier that German doctors had given their preliminary consent to arrive in Ukraine on April 13 to examine the conditions at Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 belonging to Ukrainian Railways, where Tymoshenko’s treatment is planned.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office has vowed to provide all possible assistance in arranging this visit. "The Prosecutor General’s Office will provide all possible assistance in arranging the visit of German medical specialists to the Ukrainian Railways’ clinic to familiarize the foreign doctors with the conditions the Health Ministry has proposed for examining Yulia Tymoshenko. We are also willing to facilitate the organization of their visit to the convict herself, if there is such a desire," said Ukrainian prosecutor general’s spokesperson Marharyta Velkova.
