KHARKIV – Doctors of the Berlin-based Charite Clinics do not recommend former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko take part in a meeting of Kyiv District Court on the case of the activities of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine corporation on July 10, Tymoshenko's defense counsel Serhiy Vlasenko has said.

“The physicians do not recommend Yulia Volodymyrivna [Tymoshenko] take part in tomorrow’s hearing, as this can significantly affect the
treatment process. Yulia Volodymyrivna strictly complies with all
recommendations of the physicians,” the lawyer told reporters near the
Central Clinical Hospital No.5 in Kharkiv on July 9.

Vlasenko also confirmed that he was present at Tymoshenko’s meeting
with representatives of European Parliament, but refused to comment on
this issue.

“They decided not to make any comments until the end of the European
Parliament’s mission. The only thing I can say right now is that they
discussed in both Tymoshenko’s affairs and the general political
situation”, the lawyer said.
