Leader of the BYT-Batkivschyna parliamentary faction Andriy Kozhemiakin has stated that the defense lawyer of former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko, Serhiy Vlasenko, has not been allowed to see his client for two days.

"After the night from April 21 to April 22, when Yulia Tymoshenko was unexpectedly transported to a hospital in Kharkiv and then also unexpectedly returned her back to the Kachanivska colony, we, the defense team, have not been allowed to see Yulia Tymoshenko for a second day in a row. We don’t know what is going on with her and what her condition is," he said at a sitting of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday.

"I’m addressing you, Volodymyr Mykhailovych [Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada], I’m asking you to address Mr. [Oleksandr] Lisitskov [the head of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine] or someone who controls him, and allow the defense team to meet with Yulia Tymoshenko as soon as possible," Kozhemiakin said.

He stressed that the faction reserves the right to react to the situation.

"I will hold a relevant conversation," Lytvyn said and left the session hall.

"They promised me that the problem will be eliminated, the issue will be settled," Lytvyn said after returning to the hall.
