You're reading: Vlasenko: Telychenko still represents Tymoshenko’s interests at European Court

Lawyer Valentyna Telychenko continues representing the interests of former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), the ex-premier's defense lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko has said.

“Valentyna Telychenko is representing the interests of Yulia
Volodymyrivna in her appeal to the ECHR,” he told Interfax-Ukraine on
Wednesday, while commenting on recent media reports on the termination
of Telychenko’s contract and her conflict with Tymoshenko’s defense
team.

Vlasenko described the media reports as “absolutely inappropriate.”

“Unfortunately, this article [in the Kommersant-Ukraine newspaper] is
another link in the information war of Yanukovych against Tymoshenko,”
Vlasenko said.

He called on the public “to stop seeking a black cat in a dark room, especially if it is not there.”

Vlasenko stressed that Tymoshenko has no conflicts with her defense
lawyer, as all issues related to the case are discussed not only with
him and Telychenko, but also with many other experts.

Meanwhile, Telychenko refused to comment on the article in the
Kommersant-Ukraine newspaper and on her work on Tymoshenko’s appeal to
the ECHR.
