Kharkiv – An observer from the European Parliament, former EP President Pat Cox, has left the building of Ukrzaliznytsia's Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv, where he met with former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that the van carrying Cox left the territory of the hospital at about 1645, accompanied by a traffic police car and a car from the regional state administration.

Tymoshenko’s lawyer, Serhiy Vlasenko, said that the meeting had been held in his presence.

“The meeting participants discussed not only the course of the case, but the overall political situation,” Vlasenko told reporters.

He confirmed that Tymoshenko’s other lawyer, Andriy Kozhemiakin, was not present at the meeting.

Sources at law enforcement agencies told an Interfax-Ukraine reporter that Kozhemiakin had arrived after the meeting had already begun and demanded that he be allowed to attend the meeting.

“He arrived after the meeting began. In addition, it was attended by five people, so he was not allowed in,” the sources said.
