You're reading: Yanukovych appoints range of new ministers

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has made a range of new ministerial appointments.

Andriy Kliuyev was appointed the first vice premier and the minister for economic development and trade, Borys Kolesnikov a vice premier and the infrastructure minister, and Viktor Tykhonov a vice premier and the regional development, construction, housing and utilities minister.

Yanukovych also appointed Sergiy Tigipko a vice prime minister and the social policy minister, Viktor Baloha the emergencies minister, and Yuriy Boiko the energy and coal minister.

In addition, Mykola Zlochevsky was appointed the environment and natural resources minister, and Mykhailo Kuliniak the culture minister.

Mykola Prysiazhniuk became the agriculture and provisions minister, and Dmytro Tabachnyk was appointed the education, science, youth and sports minister.

The decrees making the appointments have been posted on the official Web site of the head of state.
