You're reading: Yanukovych approves hostel privatization program running until 2015

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a law on a national targeted program for transferring hostels to the ownership of local communities in 2012-2015, according to the Web site of the Ukrainian president.

The Verkhovna Rada passed a relevant law on June 21.

The law stipulates that citizens living in state-owned hostels can privatize them after the hostels are transferred to the ownership of local communities.

The program also contains a schedule and funding for the transfer of hostels to local communities.

According to the law, on the whole, 1,058 hostels with a total area of 2,458 square meters are to be transferred to local communities.
