Verkhovna Rada will be holding an extraordinary session soon to discuss peaceful settlements of the domestic conflict, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych told European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso by phone.

“Viktor Yanukovych told Jose Manuel Barroso about his conversation with Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Rybak. According to the head of state, an extraordinary parliament session will be held in Ukraine in the next few days to consider all the issues that were raised during talks over peaceful settlements of the conflict,” the Ukrainian president’s press office said.

There are no differences in the views on peaceful settlements of the situations, Yanukovych told Barroso.

Yanukovych reassured the EU president of being committed to a political dialogue with the opposition and not planning to impose a state of emergency in the country, European Commission representative Olivier Bailly said earlier.
