Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that recognition of the independence of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Kosovo violates the rules of international law.

"I have never recognized Abkhazia, South Ossetia or Kosovo’s independence. This is a violation of international law," Yanukovych said at a press conference marking his first 100 days in office in Kyiv on Thursday.
