Yanukovych suspends his membership in Party of Regions, hands over party leadership to Azarov

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has suspended his membership in the Party of Regions, which he headed before being elected head of state, and handed over leadership in the party and in the parliamentary faction to Mykola Azarov. "I have done this for two reasons. Firstly - I was legally obliged to do so, as it is stipulated in the Constitution. And secondly, I do not want to hinder my colleagues, members of the party from conducting an efficient policy," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

Yanukovych said that Azarov is a "unifying figure" in the party. "He (Azarov) is very experienced and once was chairman of the party," the president said.

"I decided to hand over the chairmanship in the party, and in the faction to Azarov," Yanukovych said.

Yanukovych headed the Party of Regions for almost seven years. He was elected the party leader at a congress held on April 19, 2003. He succeeded former vice-premier Volodymyr Semynozhenko in this post.

Good Russians are solidifying control of Ukraine from the stupid Ukrainians. With Yulia also gone the job is now complete. We just have to get rid of Bandera and annex to Russia to complete this process.

yanu is decent honest hard working ordinary fellow, whom the entire world seem to admirer.

he started off life as an orphant, and was victimised and mistreated for not having his own mom and dad to protect him.

He grew up, as outcast who is not worthy of the same love and respect as children with their own parents...

he nkows how to care and love, as he had been let down, and deserted from a very young age, and had realised in life you must fight for justice, for fairness ,,,, as it was not handed doown to him on a silver plate,,

yes yanu is a fighter, but has a gentle heart,,, a man of respectable character and his integrty is beyond reproach...

he does what he says, and he says what he does,,, a complete contrast from all these poppets of western leaders who are pushed around by washington and israel...

yanu is a leader for all the peole of ukraine, a leader with love care and tolerance....

finally, the finest product a country can produce,,, a leader who can make ordinary citizens heroes,,, and that is what yanu is, a champ maker!!!!

the entire western propagandea machine was against him, exploiting all his faults, what ever they could find, or just invented some dirt on him,,

then, yanu as in his child hhod, waited patiently and overcame his obstacles, and now yany is the true hero of ukraine....

it is not bandera...

bandera came fought and run away,,,,,,

yanu came fought, was down, got back,,, fought and fought and fought, and won the apraciation and praise of the netire world,,, east and west,,,,

yanu is the true winner the true hero of ukraine, and he will teach his falks how to stand the tests of harsh times, and still come out as champ, a winner a hero for all to see and appreciate......

hip hip hurray,,, yanu is ukraine's no 1 hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yanukovych, unlike Yushchenko has done the right thing. He is now the president and as such he represents ALL of Ukraine not just his political party. Yushchenko I should NEVER have remained a member of Our Ukraine let alone be its leader.

Article 103 of Ukraine's Constitution states

...

The President of Ukraine shall not have another representative mandate, hold office in bodies of state power or in associations of citizens, and also perform any other paid or entrepreneurial activity, or be a member of an administrative body or board of supervisors of an enterprise that is aimed at making profit.
