Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has taken part in an official reception hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama.
During the reception, Yanukovych had a brief conversation with Obama, during which the U.S. President praised the outstanding contribution of Ukraine’s current leadership to promoting global nuclear safety, the Ukrainian president’s press service reported.
President Yanukovych also had short conversations with Poland’s President Bronislaw Komorowski, Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Finland’s President Tarja Halonen.
In addition, the Ukrainian president met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of the European Union Herman van Rompuy.
