Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has threatened to carry out a staff reshuffle in the near future and dismiss those officials who delay reform.

"The success, as well as the failure of each reform, has its own name and surname. So I would like to tell the distinguished heads of respective programs, I mean those responsible for these programs – ministers and executors – that we’ll draw conclusions in the near future," he said at a meeting of the Economic Reform Committee in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Yanukovych said that officials had not changed their attitude to their duties. In particular, he said that the reform process was being accompanied by "a lot of fuss and trouble, formalism and indifference."

"[A government reshuffle] will be carried out where ministers do not fulfill their duties. And we’ll draw conclusions in the near future," Yanukovych said.
