The press service of the Front for Change reported that the decision was made after a meeting with Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych on Mar. 9.

"After the today’s difficult, but very important meeting with Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych I made a decision to go to opposition, form own government and protect principles, ideals and the position, with which I went for presidential election," he said.

The politician believes that he would fail to realize his position in other way, including as a part of a coalition with the Party of Regions.

"This is the only way to realize my vision of the country’s development. It’s impossible to do in other structure, including with Party of Regions," he said.

The press service said that the decision to go to opposition is final. Yatseniuk said that he would form "real European opposition."
