Front for Change Party leader Arseniy Yatseniuk has proposed introducing amendments to the criminal procedure legislation, which will help ensure that criminal cases against former Prime Minister and Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko and former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko are considered by a panel of three judges, rather than one judge.

The press service of the Front for Change Party reported that Yatseniuk had registered a respective bill of amendments to the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine in parliament on July 1.

"The presumption of guilt has currently become the main principle in the judicial system in Ukraine.

Today people are described as criminals in the courtroom although an indictment is not issued against them.

At the same time, the decision to change a judge is taken by the judge whom they want to change, and there’s no mechanism to challenge this principle," Yatseniuk said.
