Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk hopes that on Thursday, Sept. 17, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will adopt a package of governmental bills that will allow for raising pensions and salaries of public sector employees already in September-October 2015.

“If the parliament votes on Sept. 17, we will either pay up the extra sum to every retiree until the end of the month with an additional work sheet, or when paying pensions in October we’ll give another additional pay out for both September and October,” he said in the air of the program “Ten Minutes with the Prime Minister” on Sept. 13 night.

The PM noted that money for that had already been accumulated. “But to be allowed to spend the money the government has already accumulated the parliament has to vote for the laws. The President will sign them, and we’ll promptly get to every retiree, every teacher, doctor, education and public sector employee, every mother with multiple children, every citizen of the country that will get an average of 13-18 percent of increase to their pensions, salaries and welfare benefits,” Yatseniuk said.

He reminded that the government decided to increase social standards for almost 12.5 million Ukrainians as well as 80 types of welfare benefits.
