The next local elections in Ukraine could be held in 2011, Regions Party First Deputy Head Oleksandr Yefremov has said.
"We’ve just passed a resolution that cancels a resolution, which was passed earlier, scheduling the elections for May 30 this year. A group of deputies was also ordered to draft a mechanism for adopting a document, including on constitutional amendments, so as to determine the date of the next elections. It seems to me that most deputies [want the elections to be held] in the spring of 2011," he told reporters on Tuesday.
As reported, MP Mykola Tomenko’s bill slating the local elections for March 21, 2011 was earlier registered in the Ukrainian parliament.
