You're reading: Yefremov says some deputies might quit Regions Party

The leader of the Regions Party faction in parliament, Oleksandr Yefremov, has said he does not rule out that some MPs might leave the faction under pressure.

“Yielding to such pressure, I do not rule out that certain MPs might take such a decision [to quit the faction],” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, adding that pressure is being exerted on MPs and their families.

At the same time, he said: “I would be sad if Regions Party deputies take such a decision. But if it’s a deputy who joined our faction as a single-mandate deputy [rather than on the party list], then it’s his point of view and position and, after all, his right.
