You're reading: Yushchenko calls for Yanukovych to veto amendments to law on parliament’s regulations

Our Ukraine party leader Victor Yushchenko has sent a letter to Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych with a request that he veto amendments to the law on regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the party's press service reported on Mar. 10.

"I’m addressing you dear Mr. President, the guarantor of the Constitution of Ukraine, to veto the mentioned amendments to the law of Ukraine on regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and to show support for the law and the Constitution of Ukraine," reads the letter from Yushchenko.

According to Yushchenko, allowing independent MPs to join a coalition would "violate the imperative regulations of the Constitution and will lead to the illegal formation and activity of a government."
