A total of 300 Russian troops have died during military actions in eastern Ukraine, and 4,000 more are considered missing, Elena Vasilyeva, Chairman of "Cargo 200 from Ukraine to Russia" human rights group on Facebook, has said.

“We know of about 300 specific surnames that we have identified for sure,” she said on the Inter TV channel.

In addition, there are a lot of people who have gone missing.

“There are very many people, who have gone missing; we add them to ‘Cargo 200.’ We understand that these people need to be found as well,” she said and noted that the number of such people is nearly 4,000.

“Most [Russian mothers] believe Russian propaganda [saying] that the soldiers were participating in a military training exercise,” Vasilyeva added.

In turn, Chairman of the “Zakhyst” (Defense) mothers’ union Nadia Kuramshyna noted that there are over 500 Ukrainian troops missing as well.
