Associates say Russian opposition member Udaltsov detained on Russian-Ukrainian border

Russian opposition activist and Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov was not able to attend a congress of Ukraine's Borotba (Struggle) left-wing party in Kyiv on Monday because he was detained on the Russian-Ukrainian border, his associates have said. "The information available to Left Front activists indicates that Sergei Udaltsov was detained by Russian services while crossing the border and was not allowed to leave Russia," Left Front Council member Dmitry Galkin told Interfax on the sidelines of today's congress in the Ukrainian capital.
The Kyiv Post is disabling its online comment section due to an increase in trolls, violent comments and other personal attacks. Other news organizations worldwide have taken similar steps for the same reasons. The Kyiv Post regrets having to take this action.
