The Interfax-Ukraine News Agency – a company belonging to the Interfax Information Services international group – has been an information provider in the political and economic information market of Ukraine since 1992.

Russian opposition activist and Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov was not able to attend a congress of Ukraine's Borotba (Struggle) left-wing party in Kyiv on Monday because he was detained on the Russian-Ukrainian border, his associates have said. "The information available to Left Front activists indicates that Sergei Udaltsov was detained by Russian services while crossing the border and was not allowed to leave Russia," Left Front Council member Dmitry Galkin told Interfax on the sidelines of today's congress in the Ukrainian capital.
