The United Civil Party of Belarus plans to hold rallies throughout the country in order to support the Ukrainian opposition, the party posted a statement on its Web site.

“The purpose of large-scale events – rallies and marches – is to
express solidarity with the Ukrainian people and their aspiration to
live in the European Union,” the statement said.

As of now, the applications to hold the rally have been filed in
Gomel, Brest, Mogilev and Bobruisk, the document said. “Other regions of
the country are on the way,” it said.

“The United Civil Party is united with Maidan, the political council
of the United Civil Party passed such a statement on November 25, at the
very beginning of the events and the wave of support has risen in the
regions now,” the document said.

The United Civil Party has expressed its “solidarity with the
supporters of European integration, those who went into streets in order
to show their commitment to European values and standards,” the
statement said. “We are together with those for whom the European choice
is a purpose and a future. Not only is the destiny of Ukrainians
decided in Kyiv today, but that of all supporters of change in the
post-Soviet space,” the document said.
