Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko plans to make a speech on Thursday at a summit of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in which he would propose reforming the OSCE, his office said.

"In his speech he will state the Belarusian position on the development and reforming of the OSCE, on improving the effectiveness of the instruments of that organization, and on strengthening its international influence," a presidential spokesman told Interfax.

Lukashenko also plans a series of bilateral meetings.

The summit, opened on Wednesday, is being held in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, the country holding this year’s chairmanship of the OSCE.
