Brussels - The European Commission is holding intensive negotiations with Russia in order to find a resolution to the dispute between the European Union and gas giant Gazprom, EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger said on Monday.
"I believe these controversial issues can be cleared up, I believe it is possible we find compromises," Oettinger said at a meeting of EU energy ministers in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The EC recently launched an antitrust investigation against Gazprom.
