Tbilisi - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili informed foreign diplomats and representatives from international organizations about the situation created by the departure of the defense minister, the foreign minister and the state minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration from the Georgian government.

“I understand that the latest transformations of the government may cause questions from our foreign partners but I want to assure you that the foreign policy of the Georgian government has not changed and will not change,” Garibashvili told the diplomats on Thursday, Nov. 6.

The events which have happened in Georgia in the past few days are “internal affairs” which have no influence on foreign relations, the prime minister stated.

Garibashvili is certain that new Georgian Defense Minister Mindia Janelidze will strengthen cooperation with partners.

“We will soon appoint a new foreign minister and a state minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration,” he said.

“Political alliances and government personalities may change but our Euro-Atlantic integration commitments are unwavering. This is not only a priority of our foreign policy, this is also a wish of the Georgian people,” the prime minister underlined.
