The French-Russian contract for the supply of Mistral helicopter carriers remains valid, French President Francois Hollande said on Aug. 20th.
“Currently the (EU) sanctions are no impediment to the supplies,” he said in an interview with the Le Monde newspaper
If tensions increase over Ukraine, France could review its stance on the Mistrals, he said.
“If additional tensions arise and it becomes impossible to find a way out of the crisis, we will need to reconsider the supplies. However, this is not an issue at the moment,” said the French president.
