The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have completed pre-trial investigations into criminal cases opened against former First Deputy Head of Naftogaz Ukrainy Ihor Didenko and former Environment Minister Heorhiy Filipchuk respectively.

The accused and their lawyers are currently examining the materials of the criminal cases, the media liaisons office of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported on Feb.4.

The office also recalled that it had already completed pre-trial investigations into criminal cases opened against former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko, former First Deputy Justice Minister Yevhen Korniychuk, former Deputy Environment Minister Borys Presner, former Acting Defense Minister Valeriy Ivaschenko, former Head of the State Customs Service Anatoliy Makarenko, former Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Volodymyr Rabotniov, former Deputy Head of the State Customs Service Mykola Sinkovsky, former Deputy Transport and Communications Oleksandr Davydov and former Deputy Head of the Pension Fund Viktor Kolbun.

The Prosecutor General’s Office is currently investigating two criminal cases opened against former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

Ukraine’s law enforcement agencies have opened 22 criminal cases against former senior government officials who are accused of abusing office, power, embezzling budgetary funds and large amounts of state property, the office said.
