You're reading: Kashin has no idea who beat him and why

Kommersant reporter Oleg Kashin has no idea who attacked him and which of his publications had provoked the beating.

"I certainly don’t know. My suspicions coincide with what has already been said and written," Kashin said in an interview aired on Kommersant FM radio on Monday evening.

Asked which of his publication could have provoked the attack, he said he really did not know.

"It could be about Khimki, or Rosmolodezh [Russian Youth], or the Young Guard. I have no coin that could tip the scales and say ‘yes.’ I really don’t know," Kashin said.

Kashin was severely beaten by two unidentified men in the early hours of November 6 outside his apartment building in central Moscow, leaving him with broken shins, a fractured jaw and skull and injuries to his fingers.
