You're reading: Lavrov, Kerry start meeting in Vienna

VIENNA – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry have started a meeting in Vienna.

The negotiations are being held at the instruction of Russian and U.S. presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama.

Lavrov earlier said that he intends to discuss with Kerry the coordination of efforts in countering Islamic State.

The U.S. side announced earlier that Lavrov and Kerry will discuss the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear issue that are now ongoing in Vienna.
