Vladivostok - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says Moscow does not care about the contents of the so-called Magnitsky list and that he did not discuss this issue with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during their meeting in Vladivostok.
"We are not going to take interest in the contents of some lists, which have nothing to do with the real problems of high-profile proceedings and an investigation, which the Russian Federation is conducting," Lavrov told journalists on Saturday.
"We did not discuss this subject," he said.
The U.S. is aware that Russia considers it unacceptable that anti-Soviet laws could be replaced by anti-Russian ones, he said.
Some U.S. government officials reportedly insisted earlier that the abrogation of the Jackson-Vanik Amendment, which has been in force since 1974, be tied to the adoption of the Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act.
