You're reading: Lukashenko: Path of Eurasian Economic Union development not easy

Minsk – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko does not think that the path towards the full-fledged functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will be easy.

“We have been creating this entity just for a few years, and it is impossible to demand a solution to all economic issues at once. This path will not be easy,” he said at a press conference in Minsk on Jan. 29.

Lukashenko recalled occasional economic disagreements between Belarus and Russia.

“Our bickering with Russia is becoming all the more visible. There were dairy, meat and confectionary wars, as you call them. The same happens between Russia and Kazakhstan, but this receives less coverage,” he said.
