Moscow - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has criticized officials who earlier announced that the Domodedovo airport bombing had been solved.

"I believe it’s absolutely unacceptable when someone announces the solving of a crime, especially such a grave one, before all the investigative procedures have been completed, the indictment has been composed and forwarded to courts, and a sentence has been handed down and has taken effect," Medvedev said at a meeting with Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov and Investigative Committee chief Alexander Bastrykin.

"You reported to me that there had been progress in the investigation. This is good, but neither prosecution, nor Investigative Committee, or other officials have the right to announce that some crime has been solved," Medvedev said.

"This crime has not yet been solved, although there is progress," Medvedev said.
