Regardless of any import bans, Russia has failed to sufficiently boost production of meat and dairy products, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.
“We need a new program to increase production of milk and increase meat production volumes. That is clear. We are working on this, but for now the results – I cannot say they are poor, on the whole they are pretty good – are insufficient, if one considers demand in Russia, regardless of any kind of sanctions or retaliatory restrictions,” Medvedev said at a meeting on development of agriculture.
Shelves in food stores ought to be chock full of quality products bearing the label “Made in Russia,” he said.
