MOSCOW - Gazprom will build the Turkish Stream pipeline to Turkey's border with Greece and is ready to wait for transport capacity on the European side to appear, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said.

“We are creating capacity to the border of the European Union and are ready to wait until capacity appears on the other side,” Miller told the Rossiya 24 television network.

Turkish Stream represents an alternative to shipping gas through Ukraine. Russia does not plan to renew the existing contract on gas transit through Ukraine, which expires in 2019.
