Moscow – The Russian Foreign Ministry is troubled by reports concerning possible deliveries of munitions from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Ukraine and calls on the Bosnian authorities not to go ahead with such plans.

“We call on the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina not to go ahead with plans to deliver munitions to Kyiv,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a commentary.

“Such intentions can cause only condemnation and bewilderment,” he said.

Such deliveries could be made from the country that itself went through the horrible period of the fratricidal war in 1992-1995, he said.

Such plans contradict international standards and commitments of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, including the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation, the Russian diplomat said.

“Such a step, especially if it is taken amid an escalation of fighting in the south-east of Ukraine, will not aid a peaceful settlement in this district, but will only lead to new pointless casualties among the civilian population,” he said.
