Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said he would not run official election events as a presidential candidate.

"I will not run any official election events. My election program is my message to citizens of Kazakhstan, titled "Building Our Future Together" and my speech at a congress of the Nur Otan Party," Nazarbayev told reporters from the largest national media.

"I feel supported by five million Kazakh citizens, who gave me their signatures, when a referendum was initiated. I am grateful to Kazakh citizens who backed my running for a new term," he said, according to the presidential press service.

Nazarbayev urged the Kazakh citizens to come to polling stations on April 3 and cast their ballots, it said.
