You're reading: Oil production in Kazakhstan declined 1.3% in January-May

ALMATY – In January-May 2012 Kazakhstan extracted 27.787 million tons of crude oil and 5.281 million tons of gas condensate, or down 1.3% and 1.2% respectively compared with January-May 2011, reported the State Statistics Agency.

In the reporting period Kazakhstan produced 17.043 billion cubic meters of natural gas, or an increase of 2.3% year on year. This includes 8.649 billion cubic meters of natural gas in a gaseous form (up 5.2%), which in turn includes 4.318 billion cubic meters of sales gas (up 6.8%). The output of associated petroleum gas in the first five months of this year came to 8,394 billion cubic meters (down 0.5%).
