MOSCOW - The unregistered Other Russia claims that dozens of its activists were detained in central Moscow.

Other Russia spokesman Alexander Averin told Interfax on Monday evening that after a sanctioned rally near the monument to Griboyedov a group of opposition supporters staged a street march but was blocked by police near National Hotel.

Several dozen activists were detained, he said.

The detainees comprised activists of Other Russia as well as the Solidarity and Oborona movements, Averin said.

No official comment from law enforcement agencies was immediately available.
