The food quality control agency on Russia's eastern Sakhalin Island is warning residents to be on the watch for "dangerous chicken meat" produced in the United States that might end up for sale in local stores. The local branch of Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia's agricultural watchdog, said on December 29 that it had earlier impounded some three tons of chicken meat discovered in boxes marked as calamari at the port of Kholm.
