MOSCOW - The company McDonald's says the Russian authorities are conducting over 200 inspections of McDonald's restaurants in different regions of Russia.

‘Over 200 inspections of McDonald’s restaurants have now been initiated. We will do everything possible to continue our company’s successful operation in Russia,’ the company said in a report posted on its Web site.

According to earlier reports, McDonald’s plans to file an appeal contesting the court decision to suspend the operation of nine McDonald’s restaurants in Russia.

After a series of checks the Russian consumer-rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor temporarily closed nine restaurants (three in Moscow, including the first one in Russia, one in the Moscow region, two in Yekaterinburg, one in Sochi and two in Volgograd). A court ordered further temporary closure of these restaurants.
