Moscow – The Russian consumer protection watchdog Rospotrebnadzor has imposed a ban on imports of fruit and vegetable preserves from Moldova.

“Rospotrebnadzor has suspended imports of canned fruits and vegetables from Moldova to Russia since July 18. Relevant information has been forwarded to the Federal Customs Service and Rospotrebnadzor’s regional departments,” Rospotrebnadzor told Interfax on Saturday.

The agency said it had discovered violations of Russian consumer protection regulations in the said products.
