MADRID - The European Union longer considers its relationship with Russia as a partnership, Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini said on Monday.
“That partnership no longer exists. Russia at this moment is no longer a strategic partner for our continent,” Mogherini said in an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera.
This is the first interview given by Mogherini since she was appointed as EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy during the EU summit on Aug. 30.
Mogherini will take up her position on Nov. 1.
