Moscow - The Russian veterinary and phytosanitary oversight service Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced temporary curbs on German poultry that has not been thermally treated.
The European Commission’s Directorate General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO) and the veterinary service have announced that an outbreak of H5N1 bird flu has been registered in Markisch Oderland in Brandenburg (Germany).
“In this connection temporary curbs have been imposed on the exports to Russia of hatching eggs, down, feathers, chicken meat and all kinds of poultry products that have not been thermally treated at a temperature of 70 degrees at a minimum, as well as feeds and additives for birds and also equipment for keeping and processing poultry from this part of Germany,” Rossekhoznadzor said.
