MOSCOW, July 27 (Reuters) - Russia will respond to reported U.S. plans to impose visa restrictions against Russian officials believed to be responsible for the death of hedge fund lawyer Sergei Magnitsky, Russia's Foreign Ministry said on July 27.

"We will not leave such unfriendly steps unanswered and we will take adequate measures, protecting the sovereignty of our country and rights of Russian citizens against unjustified moves by foreign states," said a statement from the ministry.
