MOSCOW - The Russian government is preparing a backup plan for its 2015-2017 state programs in case sanctions last for a long period of time, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said in an interview with TV channel Russia-24 on Oct. 24.

“It’s necessary to be prepared for a situation in which macroeconomic factors might be rather lengthy. For that reason the government is working on optimizing programs. We are now preparing a backup plan in case the situation lasts longer,” he said.
