You're reading: Russian oil exports to non-CIS countries down 1.2% in Jan-May, gas exports up 0.4%

Moscow, Russia - Exports of oil from Russia to non-CIS countries in January-May 2012 went down 1.2% year-on-year to 87.19 million tonnes, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said in a statement.

Physical exports of petroleum products to non-CIS countries in the five months went up by 2.8%, including liquid fuels, up 17.5%. At the same time, exports of car gasoline went down by 47.6% and diesel fuel – down 11.9%.

The value of total fuel and energy products exported to non-CIS countries in January-May 2012 increased by 12.6% year-on-year.

According to FCS, exports of these products to non-CIS countries in the five months accounted for 73.8% of total exports to these countries (also 73.8% for January-May 2011).

The physical volume of oil exports to CIS countries went up by 15.4% year-on-year to 12.268 million tonnes in the five months. Exports of petroleum products went up by 89.8%, including car gasoline – 38.9%, diesel fuel – 82.5%, and liquid fuels – up 170%.

The value of total fuel and energy products exported to CIS countries increased only slightly in comparison with January-May 2011.

Exports of fuel and energy products to CIS countries accounted for 58.8% of total exports to these countries (compared to 57.6% in January-May 2011).

Total exports of oil reached 99.458 million tonnes in the five months.

The FCS said that exports of natural gas from Russia in the five months came to over 79.6 billion cubic meters, including 52.5 bcm to non-CIS countries, up 0.4%. Exports of gas to CIS countries decreased by 24.5% to 27.2 bcm.
