KHIMKI, Moscow region - The members of the subgroup on humanitarian issues with the Trilateral Contact Group for settling the Ukraine crisis have lately been able to achieve some success giving hope for the beginning of a constructive dialogue, Vladimir Stepanov, Russia's deputy emergency situations minister, who represents Russia in the subgroup, told journalists on Saturday.

‘There have been some positive changes as of today. We’ll be meeting again on (September) 8. I hope we’ll gradually find a common language. At least I have this hope,’ he said.

Stepanov said he could not be absolutely sure of a positive result of the upcoming talks but could refer only to some prerequisites. ‘Some slight trend has taken shape. Certainly, it would be possible to judge about the results after the meeting,’ he said.
